Volcan Concepcion!According to our guide, the steepest volcano in the world as well as the most symmetrical. I don't know if either of those things are true. But it was definitely the steepest climb I've ever done.
It was mostly climbing straight up, there were no switchbacks and for a lot of it we were climbing on hands and knees to get to the top!
Ten hours later we arrived at the summit and got to look down into Volcan Concepcion. It's a humbling experience looking into the mouth of a Volcano. The ground was hot and it smelled like sulfur. There was steam everywhere and the wind was so strong we couldn't stand up next to the mouth or it would have blown us in. I'm sore today, but it was worth the experience. Yoga and lots of water is the key today I think :)
